This is Oregon's signature TRAIL running event! The beautiful course follows a stunning segment of the Pacific Crest Trail from historic Timberline Lodge high on Mt Hood to shimmering Timothy Lake nestled in the high Cascades. There is a 3,000 feet net elevation loss - yeah, it's like running downhill! Every finisher gets a custom medal and memories for a lifetime.

The Timberline Marathon is much more than a running event. It is an amazing sensory journey from the jagged vistas of magestic Mt. Hood through the fern carpeted forests of centuries old Douglas fir to the sapphire blue waters of pristine Timothy Lake. Dramatic scenery changes draw you to new discoveries around each corner. The experience will challenge your mind and body and leave you with a profound sense personal victory. It is running in its' purest form.

wards - Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers. Age groups awards will be presented three deep on each of the following age ranges: 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. All participants will receive the coveted Timberline Marathon T-shirt and a custom FINISHER MEDAL. Registration- Registration is limited to the first 400 participants. This is a very popular race so sign up as early as you can. Online registration closes September 16, 2009 at 8:00PM PST. Mail-in registration must be received by September 16, 2009. A mail-in form may be downloaded from our website. THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.
Course Time Limit- Participants must be capable of completing the course in less than 6 1/2 hours.
Packet Pick-up - Packet pick-up will race morning from 7:00AM – 8:30AM at Timberline Lodge at the entrance to the Wy' East Day Lodge. Parking & Transportation - Event parking is along Skyline Rd 42 just south of the finish area at Clackamas Ranger Station which is 10 miles down Skyline Road from the intersection with Highway 26. DO NOT park north of Clackamas Ranger Station or your vehicle will be towed. Buses will arrive pick-up racers at 7:00AM and transport them to Timberline Lodge. Each bus will depart as it fills and the last bus will leave the ranger station at 7:45AM. Spectators are not allowed on the buses because they do not return to the parking lot. There is no cost to racers. The race finish is within walking distance of the vehicle parking area. You may provide your own shuttle but keep in mind that parking is limited at the start and especially the finish area. Racers staying at Timberline Lodge will need to drive to the Clackamas Ranger Station parking area if they are using the shuttle. There is no race shuttle from the finish back to Timberline Lodge. Course Support - Participants are required to carry their own nutrition and hydration supplies. There will be four aid stations on the course with energy bars and/or gel, water and sports drink - as well as refreshments in the finish area. Racers may refill hydration containers at the aid stations. If you are allergic to bee stings, it is strongly advised that you carry your emergency medication with you. Yellow jackets are particularly active this time of year.
Race Packets
Race packets will include your bib number, safety pins and a timing chip. You are responsible for turning in your timing chip at the finish or you will be charged $20 for chip replacement. We are no longer including a course map, event schedule/information and rules in the packets but they are available for you to download here.
Massage after your competition can help in the recovery process and focuses mainly on restoring circulation. What a great way to congratulate yourself after a demanding day! Danielle and a team of licensed massage therapists will be available after the race for either table or chair massages – depending on what muscles need attention. All athletes who receive a massage will be entered into a drawing for a free one hour massage.
Massage services may be pre-paid when you register online, or with your mail-in entry. Race day payment may be made with cash or check.
